Every kalima is shown on its beautiful AYA WISE learning card with the full Arabic text, followed by an easy transliteration for correct pronunciation and the complete translation in English and Urdu. How Children Learn the 6 Kalimas
The kalimas are usually the very first words of faith a child memorises, often before or alongside Noorani Qaida. Because the kalimas for kids are short and built on repeated phrases, children pick them up quickly when the teaching is regular and patient. A good routine is ten to fifteen minutes a day: listen, repeat, recite from memory, and revise the previous kalima before starting the next one.
At AYA WISE, our teachers follow exactly this method in one-to-one online classes. Children learn every kalima with correct pronunciation, and parents receive the meaning in English and Urdu so the whole family can revise together at home. You can see the class plans and timings on our courses page.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the 6 kalimas in Islam?
The 6 kalimas are six statements of Islamic faith: Kalima Tayyab, Kalima Shahadat, Kalima Tamjeed, Kalima Tauheed, Kalima Astaghfar and Kalima Radd-e-Kufr. They summarise the core beliefs of a Muslim, from the declaration that there is no god but Allah to repentance and the rejection of disbelief.
What is the first kalima?
The first kalima is Kalima Tayyab, also called Pehla Kalma. Its words are: Laaa ilaaha illallaah, Muhammadur Rasoolullaah, which means: There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. It is the foundation of Islamic faith and the first kalima every child learns.
Why do children learn the 6 kalimas?
Children learn the 6 kalimas because they carry the basic beliefs of Islam in short, memorable lines. Learning them early builds a child’s connection with Allah, teaches the habit of praising Allah and seeking forgiveness, and prepares the child for salah and Quran reading.
How long does it take a child to memorise all six kalimas?
With short daily practice, most children memorise one kalima in a few days. The first two kalimas are short, while the fifth and sixth are longer. A steady routine of ten to fifteen minutes a day usually completes all six kalimas in about four to eight weeks, with regular revision.
Can my child learn the 6 kalimas online?
Yes. In one-to-one online classes, a teacher listens to your child recite, corrects pronunciation on the spot and explains the meaning in simple words. AYA WISE offers these classes for kids in the USA, UK, Canada and worldwide, with male and female teachers and flexible timings.
May Allah bless your family with the light of these beautiful words. Start with the first kalima today, and if you would like a teacher to guide your child, we are one message away.
