O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating any partner with You while I know it, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know. I have submitted and I have believed, and I declare: there is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
What Kalima Radd-e-Kufr Teaches Us
Kalima Radd-e-Kufr is the kalima of rejecting disbelief. Radd means rejection, and in this kalima the believer rejects kufr (disbelief), shirk (associating partners with Allah) and all sins, known and unknown. It is a renewal of the promise of faith: the believer declares submission and belief, and ends with the words of the first kalima, bringing the six kalimas full circle.
Parents should explain the gentle meaning to children: this kalima is our promise that we love Allah alone and want to stay close to Him. Teach it after the fifth kalima so children see the pattern: seeking forgiveness and then rejecting wrong. Reciting it together as a family is a beautiful way to renew everyone’s faith.
